UTINAM, the art of mastering time

UTINAM, the art of mastering time

Between technology and subversion, creation and precision, under the impetus of Philippe Lebru, UTINAM blows the dust off watchmaking conventions with playful, contemporary pieces.

TheWATCHMAKING UTINAM version

It's 1993, and the designer from Biel/Bienne has been working in the art of watchmaking ever since. Between methodology and artistic intimacy, he puts time to the test and overturns the codes of the double hand on a dial. Playing with materials and shapes, UTINAM clocks - all powered by Manufacture movements - reveal treasures of micro-mechanical magic.

UTINAM at the service of art

In the end, it only took a few years for the watchmaker to achieve fame. In 2005, his modern timepieces were awarded the Grand Prix in all categories at the Concours Lépine. This was followed by a Gold Medal at the Salon de l'Invention in Geneva. The inventor was then invited to decorate the facades of Besançon's TGV station and Musée des Beaux-Arts.

In 2015, UTINAM exported to the land of the rising sun with the creation of the AoyAmA clock. This 5-meter-high creation marks Tokyo's time frenzy. Finally, to celebrate IWC Schaffhausen's 150th anniversary in style, UTINAM builds a 3-meter-high replica of "The Time Machine", exhibited at the SIHH in Geneva.

The collection Pop Up

UTINAM, the art of mastering time

Imbued with contemporary art, each collection features a distinctive design and a number of exciting technical innovations. Among them, the Pop Up line breathes new life into mechanical floor clocks, a turn of direction begun a few years ago by the "romantic" Hortence. Available in a wide variety of colors and materials, each clock offers great freedom for personalization...

"I dreamed of a timeless clock: one that defies Time, one that escapes it! Taut between past and future, its line would build our relationship with the other. A sensitive geometry, a graphic mechanism inscribing the time of the present, I dreamed of a Point Of Presence. I created POP UP."
