How to care for your jewelry

jewelry care

Over time, jewelry can lose its original shine. But that's without counting on our tips, which will help you maintain and restore the beauty of all your jewels. Here are our tips for your silver, gold or Platinium jewelry!

Caring for silver jewelry

Silver is considered a sensitive metal. If you don't take care of it, it will tend to oxidize and become dull. Our daily advice is to avoid your silver jewelry coming into contact with water, as it is an ultra-sensitive metal to humidity.

To clean your silver jewelry, use a suede or chamois handkerchief. Silverware care products can also help you give your jewelry the shine it deserves!

Gold jewelry care

Gold is one of the most stable precious metals. It does not oxidize in air or water. However, it can become tarnished with daily wear.

To clean your gold jewelry, we suggest you never use chemicals, but rather warm, soapy water. After an hour in the water, your jewelry should be gently brushed with a soft brush and then dried with a soft, dry cloth.

For white gold, the best way to avoid yellowing is to have it professionally rhodium-plated by your jeweller.

Care and maintenance of Platinium

Time is also the enemy of Platinium. However, it is less susceptible than white gold, for example. To restore its original appearance, all you need to do is polish it lightly every two years or so.

On a daily basis, we advise you to remove your jewelry at Platinium during physical activity. Also, avoid storing them in a box, to prevent them from shaking. During your travels, you can use jewel cases, which are much more suitable. Before going to bed, we strongly recommend that you store your jewelry in a safe place to prevent it from falling off.

To clean your Platinium jewelry, simply soak it for an hour in a glass of soapy water. Marseille soap is a good option. Then rinse with clean water and dry with a soft, dry cloth.

We hope all these tips will help you keep your jewelry for a lifetime. Don't hesitate to ask us for advice in store.
